Running for Justice of the Peace to make county government transparent, accessible, and accountable.

Meet Alex Thomas
A lifelong resident of West Memphis, Alex Thomas knows the importance of grit. After an unexpected family tragedy brought her home from the University of Arkansas, she returned to school, finished her degree, and ultimately received a Master’s in special education. Now a special education teacher, a mom, and a volunteer at the West Memphis Animal Shelter, Alex remains deeply invested in the community she loves. In her spare time, this proud Swiftie enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs, and photography.

What Does a Justice of the Peace Do?
Justice of the Peace members serve on the Quorum Court, which is the governing body of county government. They:
- Approve the county budget
- Decide how tax dollars are spent
- Vote on county infrastructure and services
- Represent the people of their district
Why Alex is Running
Alex Thomas is running for Justice of the Peace because county government should be transparent, accessible, and accountable to the people it serves. Too many residents don’t know when Quorum Court meetings happen or how decisions are made. Alex believes District 2 deserves a voice and wants to make sure residents understand how their county government works and how their tax dollars are being used.
A clear, honest and expansive Quorum Court
